Spire Inc. is offering a paid summer Internship in Construction Engineering in the St. Louis region.

The role is open to an undergraduate rising junior, senior, or graduate student pursuing an engineering degree and is designed for hands-on, real-world experience across our operations. Interns rotate among engineering assignments, assist with correspondence, prepare paperwork for gas work, attend meetings, review designs and estimates, and research legacy asset data.

Qualifications

• Must be an undergraduate rising junior, senior or graduate level student in the fall of 2027 pursuing an engineering degree.
• Must be able to work 35 - 40 hours per week throughout the summer internship.
• Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA.
• Microsoft Office proficiency required with most positions.
• Must participate in All Inclusive Onboarding and Project Poster Symposium

Responsibilities

• Rotate between engineering assignments to gain broad exposure.
• Assist with correspondence from foremen, civic inspectors, and other departments regarding job status.
• Process information to coordinate facilities with proposed improvements.
• Prepare paperwork for gas main and service work, including utility agreements.
• Attend meetings to discuss and negotiate with municipalities and firms.
• Review design and cost estimates for main and service work.
