Baxter & Woodman Inc. invites you to join as a Construction Engineering Intern in our West Palm Beach, FL office starting May 2027.

You will gain on-the-job experience supporting our transportation, water, and wastewater teams with field observation and client collaboration. The role focuses on roadway reconstructions, bridge and seawall improvements, water/wastewater infrastructure, and sanitary sewer projects.

Qualifications

• Ongoing pursuit of a 4-year degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in construction engineering.
• Available to start May 2027.
• Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman service area (own transportation).
• Work in a team environment.
• Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
• Desire and ability to work outdoors 40+ hours per week.
• Able to identify and solve problems promptly.

Responsibilities

• Construction services associated with quantity computation, construction layout, survey, and construction inspection.
• Field work, studies, and design of water and wastewater system rehabilitation.

About the role, Your Impact

Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Construction Intern in our West Palm Beach, FL office starting May 2027. This on-the-job experience will support the firm’s transportation, water, and wastewater departments by participating in the field observation of a variety of projects and an opportunity to work directly with firm clients. Assignments may involve roadway reconstructions, structural (bridges and sea walls) improvements, water and stormwater infrastructure construction, and sanitary sewer projects. The Intern will be actively involved in the oversight of construction, earning valuable experience in the civil engineering field.

What your day-to-day will look like, what you will learn on the job:

Compensation: The hourly pay for this role is $23.00. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
