Job summary

PCL Construction seeks an Engineering/Technical Student for Summer 2027 internships in Minnesota and North Dakota, including Fargo and Grand Forks. Responsibilities span assisting engineers and superintendents, site safety audits, reading drawings, RFIs, and project coordination. Eligible U.S.

workers who are full-time students in related fields will gain hands-on experience. Wage ranges reflect $20–$25/hour based on experience, with housing allowances for moves.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a degree relevant to the construction industry (e.g. construction management, construction engineering, construction technology, etc.)
• Desire to pursue a career in construction project management, field supervision, or estimating.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States and 18 years of age or older
• Possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation to travel to and from the job site
• Able to work full time from May to August in MN or ND or other states where our construction projects are located (housing allowance provided)
• Able to navigate through a construction site daily, climb ladders and stairs
• Background check may be required; safety-sensitive position
• Substance abuse test required by third party

Responsibilities

• Assists Field/Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Superintendents
• Conducts safety audits and quality audits
• Reads and understands drawings and specifications
• Logs submittals and processes RFIs
• Assists with surveying and project layout
• Maintains and updates field drawings, field equipment and records
• Assists with coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and field staff
• Attends relevant project meetings
• Prepares memos, letters, meeting minutes, contracts, and other documents
• Assists with project documentation requirements
• Assists with estimating and soliciting subcontractors and/or suppliers for information and pricing
• Performs other duties as assigned
