Job summary

RK&K is seeking a structural inspector/project engineer in the Philadelphia area to support inspection on rail and transit improvement projects, including accessibility upgrades and modernization of active facilities.

You will perform field inspections of structural elements, review drawings and specifications, and document findings with reports, photos, and daily logs while coordinating with engineers, contractors, and agency representatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–10 years of structural inspection, construction, or project engineering experience.
• Rail or transit project experience highly desired.
• NICET Level II–IV or ACI certification strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to perform field work.

Responsibilities

Required Education, Skills and Experience

• Background in civil or structural engineering preferred
• NICET (Level II-IV), ACI, or similar certifications strongly preferred
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Valid driver's license and ability to perform field work

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Transit station renovations or modernization projects
• Accessibility improvements (elevators, platforms, circulation paths)
• Work in active stations or rightofway environments
• Familiarity with IBC, ACI, AISC, ASTM, and design standards
