What You Will Do:

GFT is seeking a Construction Engineering Inspector to join our Construction Services team in Charlotte and/or Asheville!

What you'll be challenged to do:

As an engineering inspector, you will experience exceptional training and career development opportunities, allowing you to understand dynamics unique to being in the field as part of the construction management function. You will work under the direct supervision of experienced field engineers on challenging construction projects.

Responsibilities include:
  • Performing field inspections, design calculations, verifying dimensions and project data, and examining workmanship for standards conformity.
  • Working under supervision of a field engineer, project manager, or senior team member.
Education | Experience:

What you will bring to our firm:

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with technicians, engineers, contractors, and the public.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as required within NC.
  • Commitment to safety and applying safety protocols at all times.
  • Ability to work safely outdoors, with exposure to hazards such as heights, traffic, and rough terrain.
  • Teamwork and independent work capabilities.
  • Moderate physical activity including walking, climbing, kneeling, and standing.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Close visual acuity for reviewing plans.
  • Capability to survey and inspect construction sites in varying terrains and temperatures.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of related experience.
  • High School diploma.
  • Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Ability to follow and give guidance.
  • Valid NC Driver's License required.
Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $50,000 - $80,000, dependent on experience and location.
