Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a telecom site modification engineer to oversee tower-based upgrades. You will coordinate installation of 4G/5G Ericsson radios, manage GC partners, and ensure inventory accuracy while aligning with RF/Network Operations on design and implementation.

The role requires an Associates degree or 5+ years of telecom experience, strong PM and communication skills, and the ability to spend budget according to project workload. 2 days in office weekly in Rolling Meadows, IL.

Qualifications

• Strong project management and communication skills are essential.
• Experience surveying shelter and tower assets and coordinating with GC teams.

Responsibilities

• Review design, mount analysis, and structural analysis for tower-based modifications.
• Manage installation of 4G + 5G Ericsson radios and associated cabling.
• Create Bills of Materials and coordinate inventory with GCs for each project.
• Work with Equipment Eng, Real Estate, RF and Network Operations during site upgrades.
• Monitor monthly budget and spend according to workload and cost projections.

Job description

Duration: 12 Months

Type: Hybrid

Pay Rate: $51/hr. on W2

Workdays: 2 days a week mandatory in the office (Tues/Wed)

Travel: At least 1 day of site visits every 3-4 weeks due to outer market site workload

Job Descriptions:

• Responsible for Design review, Mount Analysis review, Structural Analysis review, Construction drawing adjustment, equipment management, GC management and close-out review of tower-based cell site modification projects.
• Primary focus is managing the installation of 4G + 5G Ericsson radios, tower-based antennas/radios/hybrids and associated secondary cabling.
• The engineer will ensure the proper expansion of network capacity and support the modification team’s needs with tower and ground modification projects.
• The individual will be responsible for creating Bill of Materials, managing inventory with the GCs for each project. They will have to work closely with other engineers with Equipment Engineering, Real Estate, RF and Network Operations during design and implementation of the site upgrades.
• The applicant needs to be able to spend the monthly budget based on project workload and expected cost.
• Must be self-motivated and have the ability to complete tasks with little supervision.
• Strong Project Management and Communication skills with the ability to work closely with Team Members.
• Associates degree or minimum of 5 yrs. equivalent telecommunications experience required.

Critical Skills:

• Coordination of 4G and 5G tower modification projects via a general contractor
• RF Datasheet Equipment and Construction Drawing review experience
• Inventory management of hardware
• Surveying shelter and tower assets to identify solutions
• Performing site bid walks
• Confident with computer programs, mainly excel/Google Sheets
