Advantage Technical is seeking an experienced Construction Engineer to support major facility modifications, new installations, and infrastructure projects in a highly regulated industrial setting. You will coordinate with design engineering, operations, EPC contractors, and site leadership while overseeing field execution from planning through testing, commissioning, and turnover.

The role is on-site with a Direct Hire opportunity in Piketon, OH.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of construction or field engineering experience in regulated industrial facilities.
  • Experience developing work packages and supporting QA/QC inspections, mechanical/electrical installations, welding, startup/commissioning, RFIs, NCRs, ITPs, and as-built control.
  • Experience working with EPC contractors and vendors, including progress tracking, change management, field estimating, and contract performance.
  • Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, IEEE/NEMA with strong safety focus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the construction engineering point of contact for facility infrastructure projects, coordinating daily activities among Design Engineering, Operations, and construction contractors.
  • Convert engineering designs into executable field work packages, including permits, procedures, ITPs, hold points, acceptance criteria, RFIs/RFCs, redlines, and as-built documentation.
  • Oversee EPC and specialty contractors, monitoring cost, schedule, quality, performance, change orders, and progress while ensuring contract requirements are met.
  • Lead field safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, including LO/TO, arc-flash controls, OSHA, NEC/NFPA/IEEE requirements, and DOE/nuclear-quality expectations.
  • Coordinate construction testing, punch-list completion, functional testing, energization, commissioning, and final turnover to achieve Ready-for-Operations status.

Job description

We’re seeking an experienced Construction Engineer to support major facility modifications, new installations, and infrastructure projects within a highly regulated industrial environment. Salary Range: $85k-$105k DOE

Location: Piketon, OH

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the construction engineering point of contact for facility infrastructure projects, coordinating daily activities among Design Engineering, Operations, and construction contractors.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of construction or field engineering experience in industrial facilities such as nuclear, chemical processing, oil & gas, or large-scale manufacturing, including contractor and multi‑discipline field oversight.
  • Hands‑on experience developing work packages and supporting QA/QC inspections, mechanical/electrical installations, welding, startup/commissioning, RFIs, NCRs, ITPs, and as‑built control.
  • Experience working with EPC contractors and vendors, including progress tracking, change management, field estimating, and contract performance.
  • Working knowledge of highly regulated environments and applicable standards, including NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, IEEE/NEMA, with a strong commitment to industrial and electrical safety.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil/Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or related) or Construction Management; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a “Q” level security clearance.
