Job Summary

The Construction Engineer is responsible for supporting construction projects through technical engineering expertise, planning, coordination, and execution. This role ensures that projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all design specifications, codes, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating construction activities.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents for accuracy and constructability.
  • Provide technical support to project managers, superintendents, and field teams.
  • Monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to project timelines.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Perform site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Identify and resolve design and construction issues in collaboration with engineering and project teams.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and reports.
  • Assist with cost tracking, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
  • 0–5+ years of construction or engineering experience (entry to mid-level depending on role level).
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project management principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, Bluebeam).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain.
  • Experience in heavy civil, infrastructure, or commercial construction.
  • Familiarity with scheduling software and cost control tools.
Work Environment

Combination of office and field environment. Frequent visits to construction sites with exposure to varying weather conditions. May require extended hours, weekends, or travel depending on project needs.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk construction sites, climb ladders, and navigate uneven terrain.
  • Ability to lift up to 25–50 pounds occasionally.
