Job summary

Balfour Beatty US is seeking an Office/Field Engineer to support Project Engineers and Superintendents in planning and day‑to‑day project execution. You will help manage submittals, material deliveries, schedules, and budgets on active construction sites.

The role requires 1–4 years of related experience, a BS in civil or construction management preferred, and proficiency with CAD, HCSS HeavyJob, and Primavera.

Qualifications

• 1-4 years of experience in civil/construction roles.
• Computer proficiency with office suites (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Interfaces effectively with project teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Engineer and Superintendent with project planning and daily execution.
• Maintain project schedule elements and coordinate submittals and information requests.
• Manage material deliveries, schedules and budgets under supervision.
• Support quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and change order estimating.
• Supervise and inspect field work, including night operations.

Position Summary:

The primary role of the Office/Field Engineer is to assist the Project Engineer and Superintendent with the planning and daily execution of the project. Responsible for maintaining certain aspects of the project schedule as assigned by the Project Manager, by managing the process of submittal approvals, coordinating the timely delivery of materials, maintaining schedules and budgets.

Responsibilities:

Shared time between office and field management operations may include:

• safety meetings


• processing of submittals and request for information


• cost analysis and projections


• payment requisitions


• change order estimating


• supervision and quality inspection of field work (including night work)


• procurement of materials


• subcontractor scheduling and coordination


• scheduling - use of critical path logic


• third party outreach / coordination

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

• 1-4 years of experience, equivalent combinations of technical training and related


• S. in civil engineering, mechanical engineering or construction management preferred.


• Computer knowledge of office suite programs (excel, word, PowerPoint)


• Knowledge of CAD, HCSS HeavyJob, and Primavera a
