Job summary

Centura College in Newport News, VA, is seeking an experienced Construction Electrician Instructor to teach electrical trades in classroom and lab settings. You will cover topics such as basic electricity, service wiring, conduit installation, controls, and life safety systems, developing curriculum and mentoring students.

Schedule is Monday–Thursday, 8:30am–2:30pm and 4:30pm–10:30pm, with opportunities for evening/weekend travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years in electrical or construction trades.
• Experience as Construction/Commercial/Industrial Electrician preferred.
• Vocational training is a plus.
• OSHA 10 and NCCER related credentials preferred or to be obtained.

Responsibilities

• Teach electrical trades classes on a regular schedule.
• Deliver hands-on instruction in classroom and lab settings.
• Assist with curriculum development and course material prep.
• Maintain tools, lab equipment, and instructional materials.
• Record attendance, grades, and student progress; submit reports on time.
