Job summary

AbbVie seeks an Associate Director of Construction & Contractor Safety to lead global EHS programs, oversee safety governance, and minimize risk across projects. The role drives best-in-class performance and a culture of Zero Believe it, with visibility across all levels and field presence on active sites.

The candidate will develop and sustain EHS systems, investigate incidents, and push continuous improvement while embedding safety in new technologies and construction processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in EHS/Engineering with 8–10 years of EHS experience in manufacturing or R&D.
• EHS Professional certification is preferred but not required.
• Experience implementing EHS regulations and conducting incident investigations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee EHS programs, tools and training to meet regulatory compliance.
• Lead investigations of incidents and near-misses and share lessons learned.
• Observe in the field, coach on best practices, and reinforce AbbVie safety culture.
