Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and 4 years of economic development experience.
• Experience in a local government setting in a rapidly growing community preferred.
• Marketing and research principles knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and develops the City by recruiting and expanding businesses in the community.
• Researches companies and industries; develops strategic and marketing plans; generates business leads; represents the City at trade shows; presents to private sector executives; negotiates development agreements.
• Manages and coordinates proposals to clients; responds to inquiries; assists in presentations and site visits.
• Conducts market research; interfaces with other departments to incorporate technology; develops client databases.
• Provides staff support to economic development programs and related boards/commissions; coordinates intra-departmental teams for entitlement and construction support.
• Develops and implements marketing strategies for target industries; prepares and distributes digital/print marketing materials.
• Assists in negotiating development agreements; analyzes fiscal/economic impacts and presents to leadership.
