Job summary

K-Construction is seeking a Construction Drafter with hands-on building experience and strong Revit skills to create floor plans and 3D models for agricultural, residential, post-frame, and light commercial projects. You will turn customer ideas into practical floor plans and buildable details while learning our construction systems.

Responsibilities include developing Revit models, producing drawings, and coordinating with sales, estimating, project management, and field crews.

Qualifications

• Hands-on construction experience and understanding of building methods.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, including creating and revising building models and construction drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, dimensions, and details.

About the Position

K-Construction is hiring a Construction Drafter with hands-on building construction experience and proficiency in Autodesk Revit.

You’ll develop building layouts, create 3D models, and prepare construction drawings for agricultural, residential, post-frame, and light commercial projects. Your construction knowledge will help turn customer ideas into practical floor plans and buildable details.

We’re looking for someone who understands how buildings go together, loves technology, and has the drive to learn and excel. You must already know Revit. We’ll help you grow your building design skills and learn our construction systems and processes.

What You’ll Do

• Create and update Revit models for building projects.
• Develop floor plans and building layouts with input from customers and our team.
• Prepare proposal drawings and construction documents, including elevations, sections, details, and schedules.
• Use your construction experience to identify problems with framing, dimensions, layouts, and how building components fit together.
• Revise drawings as project requirements and customer selections change.
• Coordinate construction details with sales, estimating, project management, field crews, suppliers, and engineering.

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on building construction experience and a practical understanding of building methods and materials.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, including experience creating and revising building models and construction drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, dimensions, and details.
• Strong interest in technology, design software, and improving how work gets done.
• A demonstrated drive to learn, take initiative, seek feedback, and produce excellent work.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a habit of checking your work.
• Ability to stay organized, manage revisions, and follow through on assignments.
• Clear communication and the ability to work independently and with a team.

Preferred Experience

• Carpentry, framing, or construction crew leadership.
• Post-frame, agricultural, residential, or light commercial construction.
• Developing floor plans and practical building layouts.
• Additional design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Home Designer.

An architecture degree or professional license is not required.
