Job summary

Granite Construction in United States is seeking a Dispatch Coordinator to manage resources for multiple projects at the Santa Clara location. Under general supervision this position is responsible for coordinating labor, equipment, materials, trucking and rentals for all construction projects for assigned location to ensure project appropriate resources are allocated.

Qualifications

• 2+ years dispatch experience required.
• High School Diploma – some college preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Attention to detail and deadline-driven.
• Proficient with Excel, Word, Project, Heavy Job, and The Dispatcher.
• Knowledge of construction jobs, equipment, and needs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project resource needs under supervision to meet schedule goals.
• Communicate time and locations to dispatch resources.
• Work with HR, Payroll and craft unions to ensure compliance.
• Schedule equipment maintenance and optimize fleet utilization.
• Help plan job schedules to ensure timely delivery of resources.
• Use dispatch software to provide daily updates.
• Inform superintendents to monitor daily work.
• Negotiate with vendors for rentals and materials and ensure best pricing.
• Understand contract requirements for ordering resources.
• Code dispatch invoices for accuracy.
• Update underground service alert data.
• Track rentals and equipment moves.
