Job summary

Metric Geo is seeking a Director of Construction to lead Power Delivery programs in the Southeast. Based in Atlanta, you will provide executive-level oversight of Transmission, Distribution and Substation construction, ensuring safe, on-time, within-budget delivery across multiple projects.

You will build strong client and partner relationships, mentor senior site leaders, manage risks and drive continuous improvement in project controls, safety and performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction operations across Transmission, Distribution and Substation projects

• Manage project performance across safety, quality, schedule, cost and profitability
• Lead and develop Project Executives, Project Managers, Construction Managers and field leadership
• Partner with engineering, procurement and project controls teams to ensure successful EPC delivery

• Support pursuit strategy, estimating, proposals and major project opportunities
• Review project risks, forecasts, budgets and resource requirements
• Drive operational improvements and consistent construction processes across the region
• Support workforce planning and the continued growth of the Southeast Power Delivery team

The Opportunity

A leading U.S. engineering and construction organization is looking to appoint a Director of Construction to support the continued growth of its Power Delivery business across the Southeast.

This individual will provide senior leadership across major Transmission, Distribution and Substation construction programs, with responsibility for project execution, operational performance, client relationships, safety, financial performance and team development.

The role offers the opportunity to play a key part in the growth of an established Power Delivery platform while overseeing complex utility infrastructure projects across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead construction operations across Transmission, Distribution and Substation projects
• Provide executive oversight across multiple major utility programs
• Manage project performance across safety, quality, schedule, cost and profitability
• Lead and develop Project Executives, Project Managers, Construction Managers and field leadership
• Partner with engineering, procurement and project controls teams to ensure successful EPC delivery
• Build and maintain strong relationships with utilities, contractors, subcontractors and key industry partners

Ideal Background

• 15+ years of construction experience within the power or utility infrastructure market
• Significant leadership experience across Transmission, Distribution and/or Substation construction
• Track record managing large, complex utility or EPC projects
• Experience overseeing multiple projects, teams and regional operations
• Strong understanding of construction safety, project controls, contracts, estimating and commercial performance
• Experience managing client relationships with major U.S. utilities
• Proven ability to develop and mentor construction leadership teams
• Strong commercial and financial understanding
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline preferred
