Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. is seeking a skilled carpenter to construct, erect, install and repair wooden structures and forms in our South Carolina locations. You will lead a small crew under the Craft Foreman and ensure timely time sheets and safety compliance.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, cutting materials, assembling forms, bracing, scaffolding, and installing rough frames in building projects with a focus on quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in construction.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work in various environments.

Responsibilities

• Examine blueprints and specifications to determine dimensions of structure.
• Measure materials and mark cutting lines.
• Saw boards and plywood to size.
• Use carpentry hand tools (hammers, levels, squares, screwdrivers, wrenches).
• Nail cleats to construct concrete-forming structures.
• Brace forms for building concrete piers and walls.
• Erect chutes for placing concrete.
• Cut and assemble timbers for trestles/cofferdams.
• Erect scaffolding and install ladders, handrails, platforms, and gangways.
• Install door/window rough frames in building framework.
• Fit and nail sheathing on outer walls and roofs.
• Set and brace anchor bolts.
• Follow safety and project rules.
