Job summary

Clayco is a full-service real estate development, master planning, architecture, engineering, and construction firm delivering projects across North America. The Project Cost Analyst role focuses on understanding job cost, budgets, and forecasting, and building tools that automate reporting around cost data.

You will map large warehouse datasets to on-site activity, maintain data pipelines feeding standing reports and Excel deliverables, troubleshoot Excel formulas and SQL queries, and advise

Qualifications

• 4+ years construction industry experience, including time on active project sites.
• Hands-on cost control, cost management, or estimating experience on commercial/industrial projects.
• B.S. in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
• Working SQL — read, write, and debug queries against a warehouse.
• Advanced Excel with complex formulas, pivot tables, and large-dataset modeling.
• Demonstrated Excel automation or report development (Power BI, Tableau).

Responsibilities

• Understand how large warehouse datasets map to on-site activity and navigate them independently.
• Maintain data pipelines feeding standing reports and Excel deliverables as systems evolve.
• Troubleshoot and fix Excel formulas and SQL queries when they break in construction settings.
• Lead or advise data engineering on changing reporting and data needs, translating cost requirements.
• Develop and deploy ad hoc reporting for project teams from request through delivery.
