Job summary

Cobra Concrete Cutting Services Co. in Wheeling, IL is seeking a dynamic Corporate Controller to lead financial and accounting operations across three entities and seven locations. The role partners with ownership, CPA firms, bankers, and branch leadership and offers potential growth toward CFO.

This is a 100% in-person position based in Wheeling, IL with occasional travel. You will oversee budgeting, tax coordination, treasury, and compliance, while building KPIs and robust reporting to support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of accounting and financial management experience.
• 3+ years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leadership role.
• Construction industry accounting experience.
• Experience with union labor and fringe benefit reporting.
• Experience managing accounting teams.
• Strong Excel and financial reporting skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with field and office leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting operations across multiple entities and locations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Develop and maintain KPI dashboards and profitability reporting.
• Coordinate annual tax preparation, planning, and regulatory filings.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
• Manage treasury, banking relationships, and working capital.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team to build a scalable finance function.
• Ensure compliance with union labor agreements and fringe benefits.
