Job summary

Wood PLC in Northern West Virginia is seeking a Construction Coordinator to interface between project engineering and construction on small facility-based chemical projects. This on-site role requires close collaboration with plant engineers and contractors to deliver safe, compliant execution.

The successful candidate has extensive industrial construction experience, strong QA/QC knowledge, and can manage field oversight and documentation such as as-builts and redlines on fast-paced projects in

Qualifications

  • 10+ years industrial experience in chemical manufacturing.
  • Experience with industrial construction methods used in chemical facilities.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC for piping and mechanical systems.
  • Experience overseeing groups of contractors during construction.
  • Outdoor work experience with PPE; ability to travel to job-sites.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus.

  • Meet or exceed safety standards for the company and customer.
  • Ensure construction work complies with procedures, engineering and construction practices and other standards.
  • Read and understand engineering packages describing the scope of work.
  • Provide field oversight of construction aspects of capital projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Coordinate with plant engineers to understand project needs and inform them of construction processes.
  • Collaborate with plant engineers, contractors, and team members to achieve project success.
  • Field as-built measurements and design as required.
  • Review material take-offs and construction estimating.
  • Follow up on ordered materials, field installation and redlines.

The Role

As the Construction Coordinator you will be responsible for interfacing between the project engineering group and the construction group on small facility-based projects in an active chemical manufacturing plant near Parkersburg, WV. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Meet or exceed the company and customer safety standards

  • Provide field oversight of the construction aspects of capital projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Work with plant engineers to understand the needs of the projects group and to inform them of the construction process for each of their projects
  • Work closely with plant engineers, contractors, and team members to achieve project success
  • Field as-built, measurement, and design as project requires
  • Review and comment on material take-offs and construction estimating
  • Follow up on ordered materials, field installation and redlines

Skills / Qualifications
  • 10+ years industrial experience working in the chemical manufacturing industry
  • Experience in industrial construction methods as currently used in chemical manufacturing facilities
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control methods for piping and mechanical systems
  • Experience overseeing groups of contractors during construction
  • Outdoor work experience, able to wear required PPE and drive safely to job-site, and to walk and climb at the job-site as needed to oversee the construction site work
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of SAP a plus
