Job summary

Hargrove Engineers + Constructors seeks a Construction Coordinator to lead safety, regulate contractor permits, and manage field coordination on industrial projects. You will stay present in the field, monitor progress, and communicate daily updates to keep schedules and safety on track.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of relevant experience, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple contractors while adapting to shift work as needed.

Qualifications

  • Requires High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor/Master preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant industrial construction coordination and administration experience.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safety culture on projects, ensuring permits and compliance throughout the day.
  • Maintain active field presence during construction and turnarounds.
  • Provide daily construction updates to project stakeholders and scheduler.
  • Identify and communicate schedule risks; assist with schedule updates and values.
  • Stop work when safety triggers occur and escalate concerns to EHS and PM.
  • Produce weekly progress reports for PM and site scheduler.
  • Ensure field work matches design intent through daily reviews.

What You'll Be DoingJob Summary: Generally responsible for performing construction coordination for small to moderate construction assignments. This work will be performed under general supervision.Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:A leader in safety on assigned projects including setting safety and environmental performance expectations of contractors and holding them accountable through standard daily walkthroughs.In cooperation with the site Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) organization, accountable for securing safe work permits for contractors, ensuring all applicable daily permits are in place before the start of work, and monitoring compliance with required permits throughout the day.Maintains an active presence in the field during construction activity and site turnaroundsPromotes a strong culture of safety by partnering with the site EHS team to monitor, audit, and coach field contractors on safe work best practices.Monitors construction productivity and schedule performance of their assigned projects while providing feedback on risks identified to the site Construction ManagerAble to communicate construction status effectively with site Project Managers and Project StakeholdersAbility to communicate daily construction updates to the Projects Scheduler so a schedule of values can be maintained for their assigned projectsAble to manage and prioritize the works of multiple field contractors simultaneously to ensure project deliverables are metAbility to occasionally work an adjusted shift (nights and/or weekends) to support site construction activityResponsible to ‘stop work’ when stop work triggers are met and Immediate escalation of any field contractor safety concerns to site EHS department and the assigned Project ManagerWeekly construction contractor progress reports delivered to the assigned Project Manager and site schedulerDaily reviews conducted to ensure what is installed in the field matches the design intentDaily reviews of project schedule with contractor. Daily feedback should be supplied to the contractor identifying areas of opportunity for schedule improvement.Daily identification of field safety hazards that could affect contractor work going on that day. These hazards should be documented and reviewed with the contractor daily before start of work.This position offers a highly competitive compensation package, including paid time off, health insurance benefits, and matching retirement contributions.Ideal BackgroundEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
