Job summary

CPS, Inc. in Itasca, IL is seeking an experienced Controller to set financial policy and direction while actively guiding the organization’s planning, budgeting and reporting. The Controller will oversee finance, accounting, payroll, billing, and AR/AP, and will drive flawless audits.

You will lead day-to-day operations, coordinate with executives, vendors and clients, and manage a 401k program with outside payroll support, plus multi-state accounting practice experience.

Qualifications

• Recent direct experience with Sage100 software.
• Experience in account reconciliation and month-end closing procedures.
• Ability to bill customers using construction industry required formatting.
• Significant experience in preparation of work in progress schedules.
• Ability to manage payroll processing with the assistance of an outside payroll company.
• Ability to effectively communicate with executive management, staff, vendors and clients.
• Administration of 401k plan.
• Experience in multi-state accounting practices.
• Ability to oversee and improve accounting practices.
• Must have a personal commitment to quality and attention-to-detail.

Responsibilities

• Leads day-to-day finance operations and supervises accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and billing.
• Oversees finance, accounting and reporting activities and drives the organization’s strategy, financial administration, business planning and budgeting.
• Ensures the company has systems and procedures in place to support effective program implementation and conducts flawless audits.
