Job summary

Cherry Talent Group is seeking a Controller for a growing custom home builder in the Gilbert, AZ area. This hands-on role owns the accounting and financial operations, including job costing, cash flow management, and financial reporting.

The Controller will work closely with ownership, project teams, vendors, and the CPA to ensure accurate, timely books and meaningful financial information that supports sound business decisions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Experience in construction, homebuilding, or related industry
• Strong understanding of job costing and construction accounting
• Experience with AP, AR, reconciliations, financial reporting, month-end close
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, invoicing, reconciliations and financial reporting
• Oversee job costing and project-level financial reporting
• Prepare and review monthly P&L, Balance Sheet, Budget vs Actual reports
• Manage monthly client draws to support project cash flow
• Coordinate year-end close and liaise with CPA
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial records across active projects
