Job summary

Jobot in Phoenix is seeking a construction planning professional to own project scheduling across a portfolio of assignments. You will work on-site evaluating progress, examining project docs, and keeping schedules current with sound independent judgment and awareness of budget and operational stakes.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's in construction management or engineering, 1–3 years GC site experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, engineering, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years experience working for a General Contractor on a construction site as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, Field Engineer or Superintendent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar program.

Responsibilities

  • Lead schedule development and manage ongoing updates throughout the planning and construction lifecycle.
  • Investigate project schedules, cost records, and supporting documentation to conduct forensic and delay analysis.
  • Visit construction sites regularly to assess progress against plan.
  • Sort through and organize large volumes of project records and data.
  • Analyze the root causes and duration of schedule delays to support resolution of construction claims.
  • Track productivity trends, extended general conditions, and cost escalation tied to schedule slippage.
  • Evaluate how project changes and delays ripple through timelines, and communicate those impacts clearly to stakeholders.
  • Act as a client-facing resource for managing budgets, timelines, and other cost/efficiency drivers across all construction phases
  • Compile findings into clear, well-organized technical reports
  • Keep project files and deliverables organized and current
  • Coordinate regularly with internal teams, contractors, and clients

Job details

In this role, you'll take ownership of project scheduling across a portfolio of construction assignments, working with a high degree of autonomy. You'll be on-site evaluating progress, digging into project documentation and data, and keeping schedules current and accurate. This position calls for sound independent judgment, weighing trade-offs and understanding the financial and operational stakes tied to the work you deliver.

What You'll Do

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, engineering, or a related field
  • 1-3 years experience working for a General Contractor (GC) on a construction site as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, Field Engineer or Superintendent
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar program
  • Comfortable working solo or as part of a collaborative team
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills across a range of stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel roughly 25-35% to job sites and client locations
  • EIT, PE, PMP, or PSP credentials a plus
