Job summary

PolyCon Solutions is seeking an onsite Construction/Civil Engineer in Fort Worth, TX to support FAA client. You will provide technical engineering support for Infrastructure Engineering projects and develop site-specific plans. Required qualifications include a Civil Engineering degree and 4–8 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of AutoCAD and project management software is essential. Qualifications

  • 4–8 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 2–6 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5 years experience as Project Engineer or Resident Engineer.
  • Knowledge of Unstaffed Infrastructure Sustainment (UIS).
  • Knowledge of corporate work plans and National Airspace System equipment.

Job description

PolyCon Solutions seeks an onsite Construction/Civil Engineer to support our subcontractor and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) client based out of Fort Worth, TX to support the Infrastructure Engineering Center (AJW-2C18D) with 25-35% business travel.

Responsibilities
  • The Contractor shall provide technical support to the Infrastructure Engineering Center (AJW-2C18D) for accomplishment of project engineering packages:
    • Develop site specific project plans and specifications for solicitation and contracting of engineering projects for FAA approval and acceptance.
    • Perform site surveys to collect site-specific project data and research all state, local, federal, FAA, etc. standards, construction codes, and ordinances.
    • Provide analysis, recommendations, and solutions to issues identified during the project.
  • Prepare summary trip reports within two working days of trip completion.
  • Compile and complete project documents as follows:
    • Scope of work and project transmittal
    • Drawing and specification lists
    • Operational Risk Management checklists
    • Furnish information required for the preparation of Purchase Requests (PR) for assigned projects
    • Furnish information required for the preparation of NAS Change Proposals (NCP) for assigned projects
    • List of government furnished properties
    • Prepare Airspace case documents
    • Assessment of engineering impacts on Environmental & Safety Compliance Program project checklists
    • Drawings and specifications
    • Engineering cost estimate for project plans per FAA Standard/guidelines
    • Estimated completion time and project schedule
  • Provide technical engineering support for all phases of assigned new construction and renovation projects (evaluate shop drawings, design proposals, and interpret the technical requirements for adherence to contract documents).
  • Participate in Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI) and Contractor Acceptance Inspections (CAI) on all assigned projects and provide recommended resolutions on all items relating to engineering.
  • Perform engineering studies for feasibility and cost versus benefit.
  • Provide technical input to the Government Technical Interpreter in actions to plan, budget, program, and coordinate the development of engineering projects.
  • Develop project drawings in accordance with the FAA Standard/guidelines.
Required Qualifications
  • Civil Engineering degree required from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
  • 4–8 years of prior relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 2–6 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in a technical domain.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as Project Engineer and/or Resident Engineer with structural engineering design and experience with tower, shelter, and similar structure projects.
  • Knowledge of Unstaffed Infrastructure Sustainment (UIS) facilities.
  • Knowledge of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC), power, general building construction techniques, hazardous materials (HAZMAT), fire detection, security, and site work.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of Corporate Work Plan (CWP) 4.1.12.
  • Knowledge of National Airspace System Equipment Tower (NASET).
  • Knowledge of National Airspace System Equipment Building (NASEB).
  • Knowledge of project management software (Primavera, Microsoft Project, etc.).
  • 25–35% business travel.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience working with FAA supporting Unstaffed Infrastructure Sustainment (UIS) and Long-Range Radar (LRR) programs.
Location
  • Ability to commute to FAA Southwest Regional Office/Central Service Center: 10101 Hillwood Pkwy, Fort Worth, TX 76177.
  • 25–35% business travel.
