Job summary

STV is seeking a CEI, Construction Engineering Office Engineer for the Transportation department at our Hartford, CT office. You will support compliance, documentation, and coordination across field and office teams to ensure project success.

Responsibilities include reviewing contractor submissions, managing RFIs/submittals, tracking material testing, and preparing pay estimates. CTDOT standards and on-site work are required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with CE&I experience or NICET Level 2 with CE&I experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work on-site.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with contract documents, specifications, and regulatory requirements through review and verification of contractor submissions.
• Manage and maintain project documentation, including RFIs/RFCs, submittals, daily reports, and change orders.
• Coordinate and review material sampling and testing to ensure compliance with project specifications and CTDOT standards, track material certifications and test results.
• Prepare change orders, claims, material testing reports, and monthly pay estimates.
• Assist in coordinating project schedules, tracking progress, and maintaining accurate records of construction activities.
• Prepare meeting agendas and take accurate meeting minutes, then issue a report of meeting to all parties after meetings.
• Support field inspection teams by providing technical guidance, resolving issues, and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
• Communicate effectively with agency representatives, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders to facilitate project success.
