Job summary

A local construction company in Sioux Falls is seeking a Carpentry Laborer to assist with various tasks on constructions sites, including reading blueprints and installing commercial structures. The ideal candidate should be able to perform a variety of work, participate in training programs, and is preferred to have some experience with metal stud framing. Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints and plans.
• Experience in construction and installing doors, cabinets, and countertops.
• Knowledge of safety practices in construction.
• Hang and trim interior doors.
• Install base, cabinets and countertops.
• Install and finish stair materials and railings.
• Metal stud framing experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent and Foreman with construction tasks.
• Perform a wide range of miscellaneous construction work.
• Participate in training and education programs.
• Hang and trim interior doors and install railings where needed.
• Install base cabinets and countertops.
• Finish stair materials and railings as required.

Job description

The Carpentry Laborer provides assistance to the Superintendent, Foreman and others on the job in performing construction work in accordance with contracts and/or agreements that the company has with customers. The Carpentry Laborer performs a wide range of miscellaneous work as directed by the Superintendent or Foreman on the job to meet the requirements of the assigned work and makes special efforts to participate in training and education programs to increase his/her knowledge of the company’s products. This position is considered to be a safety sensitive position.

Able to read and interpret blueprints and building plans to determine the materials and dimensions specified; To install, repair, construct, or demo commercial structures; Install hardware of all types; Hang and trim interior doors; Install base, cabinets and counter tops; Install and finish stair materials and railings. Metal stud framing experience preferred but not required.
