Lewis Contractors in Owings Mills, MD is seeking a Construction Carpenter to build, erect, install, and repair forms and fixtures for various construction projects. The role emphasizes interpreting blueprints, measuring and laying out materials, and working safely with tools on site.

The ideal candidate will have carpentry experience, able to read drawings, and work well in a team to support diverse projects while adhering to local codes and safety guidelines.

Responsabilidades

• Measure, mark, and lay out materials per blueprints.
• Construct interior wall framing and partitions with various materials.
• Cut and shape wood, plastics, fiberglass, drywall as required.
• Hang drywall and wall coverings; finish as applicable.
• Use hand and power tools to build and assemble forms and structures.
• Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.
• Check accuracy with levels and squares; adjust as needed.
• Create wooden forms for concrete pours and tunnels/bridges.
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding; install windows and doors.

Description

Summary

The Construction Carpenter will build, erect, install, and repair forms, structures, and other fixtures made from wood and other materials as needed to assist with various types of construction projects.

Essential Functions

• Measures, marks, and arranges materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
• Construct interior wall framing and partitions utilizing various types of materials such as Light metal framing, wood studs and steel.
• Cuts and shapes structures, forms, or other fixtures from wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall.
• Hang various wall covering materials such as drywall, cement panels, wood paneling. Some degree of drywall finishing is a plus.
• Uses various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects.
• Joins materials with the most appropriate nail, screw, staple, or adhesive.
• Ensures the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; corrects problems as needed.
• Creates wooden forms for pouring concrete or for tunnels, bridges, or sewer construction projects.
• Erects and dismantles scaffolding.
• Installs windows and doors & hardware.
• Adheres to local building and safety codes and guidelines.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
