Job summary

MCP Group in Topeka, Kansas is seeking an Estimating Assistant to support the estimating and preconstruction team. You will gather and maintain all information necessary for a project before construction, reporting to the Chief Estimator.

You will solicit bids, organize bid documents, and coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors using Building Connected, while maintaining bid calendars and responding to inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Solicit and obtain bids from suppliers and subcontractors by phone, email and bid procurement platforms.
• Research new markets for potential subcontractors and suppliers.
• Organize and maintain bid documents.
• Manage bid calendar and notifications.
• Conduct strategic and timely subcontractor outreach to maximize bid participation and quote coverage.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, departmental meetings, and job walks with the project's Estimator.
• Maintain and post all bid documents and addenda.
• Respond to all inquiries and questions related to upcoming bids.
• Utilize Building Connected software to procure bids.
• Add and maintain all projects on the company website.
