Job summary

New Mexico Department of Transportation's Office of Inspector General seeks an auditor to conduct independent construction performance audits, assess risk, and improve accountability in accordance with applicable laws and standards.

Responsibilities include planning, testing internal controls, documenting evidence, drafting detailed reports, and presenting findings to supervisors and executives; requires high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years related experience.

Qualifications

• High School or Equivalency and two years directly related work experience in accounting, auditing, finance, and/or budgeting.
• Experience conducting audits to test compliance with laws, rules, regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

• Plan assignments by researching laws, rules and standards.
• Assess internal controls and risks across the area under review.
• Gather, test and analyze evidence and document findings.
• Write accurate appraisal reports with conclusions and recommendations.
• Present results orally to supervisors and directors.
