Job summary

Nbutexas in Tampa seeks an accomplished Construction Associate Attorney to join a nationally recognized defense-side litigation practice. The role offers sophisticated matters, frequent client interaction, and clear long-term growth within a respected firm.

The ideal candidate will handle all phases of construction litigation from start to finish, maintain strong client relations, and contribute to a collaborative, cross-office platform. Tampa office accepts full-time commitment.

Qualifications

  • Active Florida Bar license in good standing.
  • 4+ years of substantive construction litigation experience.
  • Defense-side construction litigation experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to independently manage litigation matters from inception through resolution.
  • Experience handling all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, and hearings.
  • Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage construction litigation matters from inception through resolution.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda.
  • Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, and other court proceedings.
  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and witnesses.
  • Collaborate with partners and attorneys across the firm's construction practice.
  • Analyze construction contracts, project documentation, and technical records.
  • Provide practical legal guidance and strategic counsel to construction industry clients.

Construction Associate Attorney Benefits & Compensation
  • Competitive base salary starting around $185,000+, with flexibility based on experience

Construction Associate Attorney Requirements & Qualifications
  • Active Florida Bar license in good standing

  • Experience handling construction defect claims, contract disputes, delay claims, payment disputes, and related construction litigation matters
  • Experience working with construction experts and technical consultants
  • Familiarity with construction contracts and risk allocation issues
  • Experience working collaboratively within a litigation team while also managing matters independently
  • Strong client-service orientation and business-minded approach to legal practice
