Job summary

RANDALL Construction in Apopka, Florida is seeking an experienced Construction Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Specialist to lead AP/AR in our Accounting department from our Apopka headquarters.

You will manage full-cycle AP, ensure timely vendor payments and accurate customer billing, drive collections, manage 1099s, and help improve controls and automation in a 5+ year construction accounting environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive AP/AR experience in a construction related company.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; knowledge of ComputerEase will be a plus.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems used in construction environments; ability to manage high-volume transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee full-cycle AP process including invoice entry, coding, approvals and payments.
  • Lead AR activities: collections, customer payments, reconciliations, and lien submittals.
  • Prepare AP/AR reports, cash flow forecasts, and financial metrics; support audits and month-end close.

RANDALLConstruction isseeking is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and driven Construction AccountsPayable / Accounts Receivable Specialist to lead these efforts in ourAccounting department from our headquarters in Apopka, Florida.

Theideal candidate will have experience in a construction accounting departmentwith around 5 years of AP/AR experience.

PositionSummary:

TheAccounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible executing allaspects of the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. Thisindividual will ensure timely vendor payments, accurate customer billing,effective collections management, and adherence to company financial policiesand procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills,construction industry accounting experience, and a commitment to processimprovement.

Essential Functions:
Accounts Payable Management
  • Oversee the full-cycle accountspayable process, including invoice entry, coding, approvals, and payments.
  • Ensure timely and accuratepayment of vendor invoices and subcontractor pay applications.
  • Monitor vendor accounts andresolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain positive relationshipswith vendors and subcontractors.
  • Manage 1099 reporting andyear-end vendor compliance requirements.
  • Review and improve AP workflowsand internal controls.
  • Collect and submit lienreleases
  • Accurate and timely customer billing.
  • Improved collection performance and reduced aging.
Accounts Receivable Management
  • Lead customer collectionsactivities.
  • Monitor aging reports andproactively address overdue accounts.
  • Ensure accurate application ofcustomer payments and account reconciliations.
  • Support lien release submittals.
  • Accurateand timely vendor payments.
Financial Operations
  • Develop and maintain accountingprocedures and internal control processes.
  • Assist with month-end andyear-end closing activities.
  • Prepare and analyze AP/ARreports, cash flow forecasts, and financial metrics.
  • Collaborate with the Controllerand finance team on audits and financial reporting.
  • Identify opportunities forprocess improvements and automation.
  • Proper documentation and authorization of transactions.
  • Timely reconciliation of AR, AP, and intercompanybalances.
  • Completion of month-end responsibilities according tothe close schedule.
  • Reduction in duplicate payments, coding errors,unapplied cash, and unresolved discrepancies.
  • Consistent enforcement of accounting policies andinternal controls. No Shortcuts.
  • Development of an accountable, responsive, andeffective AR/AP team.
  • Improved visibility into cashrequirements, customer risks, and vendor obligations
Desired Qualification Requirements andAttributes :
  • 5+years of progressive AP/AR experience in a construction related company.
  • Strongunderstanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
  • Advancedproficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Knowledge of ComputerEase will be a plus.
  • Excellentattention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strongcommunication and relationship management abilities.
  • Knowledgeof AIA billing, progress billing, retainage, lien waivers, and subcontractorcompliance.
  • Experiencewith ERP/accounting systems used in construction environments, as noted, we useComputerEase.
  • Experiencemanaging high-volume transactions and multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experiencerelated to work performed between related parties (intercompany) within anorganization.
  • Abilityto pass a background check and drug screening.
Physical Requirements:

This is primarily an office position and, assuch, you must be able to sit up to six or more hours in an eight-hour workday, lift lightobjects such as files and paperwork frequently during the day, and objectsweighing up to 10 pounds occasionally during the day. Youmust also be able tobend, stretch, crouch, and liftas required bythe job.
