Job summary

Ferguson seeks an AMI/AMR Project Manager to lead municipal water meter projects with remote support across the Southwest and up to 50% travel for client visits. You will manage scope, budget, milestones, and coordinate subcontractors, meetings, and reports.

The role requires 5+ years in project management; PMP and an MBA or Engineering degree are preferred; strong communication and Excel skills are essential. This is a remote role with travel to client sites as needed.

Ferguson is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for an AMI / AMR Project Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for leading Municipality's Water Meter projects and overseeing duties performed by subcontractors, with occasional on‑site client visits. Daily activities include managing projects within the project scope, and budget, monitoring project timelines, ensuring milestones are met, overseeing subcontractor's water meter installation crew's oversite and coordination, conducting meetings with project stakeholders, and producing project reports and KPIs.

This is a remote role that will support customers in the Southwest market and up to 50% travel for client site visits may be required. The ideal candidate will live in Southern California, candidates in Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Utah will be considered.

Manage all aspects of a project, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget.

• Run execution of a project in accordance within the organization's project management methodology according to the established project plan
• Establish and maintain effective sales relationships with major accounts/customers
• Coordinate with vendors to ensure they are integrated into the project and that the customer receives products on‑time and satisfactory standards of service
• Supervise progress and performance against the project plan; Work directly with partners and clients to determine project scope, specifications, requirements, and perform calculations
• Conduct project meetings and prepare regular reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team
• Provide a high level of assistance to program/project managers to ensure projects are carried out according to plan

5+ years’ experience in project management is preferred.

• ~Effectively communicate in writing and verbally
• ~ Efficiently operate computers, tablets, and mobile devices
• ~ Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)
• ~ Advanced knowledge in Excel preferred
• ~ Project Management Professional certification (PMP) preferred
• ~ MBA or Engineering degree preferred
• ~ Ability to function effectively without daily oversight from management

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.

The starting wage may be higher in certain locations based on local or state wage requirements.
