Overview

SteerBridge Strategies is seeking a Construction Administrator (CM-CA) to support construction projects within active Veterans Affairs (VA) medical facilities. This is a hands‑on, field‑focused role supporting project execution, contractor coordination, and quality oversight.

This position is ideal for candidates with a background in construction inspection, field engineering, or assistant project management who are looking to grow into a broader construction management role.

Key Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day construction activities on active job sites
• Coordinate with general contractors and subcontractors to ensure work aligns with plans and specifications
• Assist in resolving field issues and coordinating between project stakeholders
• Review and track RFIs, submittals, and change orders
• Maintain project documentation, logs, and reports
• Support project tracking including schedules, progress updates, and documentation
• Perform field inspections to verify construction meets quality standards and contract requirements
• Identify deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed
• Support testing, inspection, and compliance efforts
• Support safe construction practices on active job sites
• Assist in identifying risks and coordinating mitigation efforts
• Ensure awareness of working within active healthcare environments

Basic Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship (required for federal project access)
• Ability to pass a federal background check and obtain a VA PIV badge
• 3+ years of construction experience (inspection, field engineering, or project support)
• Experience working on active construction sites
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications

Preferred

• Experience with QA/QC or construction inspections
• Experience working with general contractors or subcontractors
• Familiarity with tools like Procore, Bluebeam, or MS Project
