An established and growing architecture firm is seeking a Construction Administration Coordinator to support project teams through the construction phase of a diverse portfolio of commercial projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented construction professional who enjoys coordinating projects, improving processes, participating in site visits, and serving as a key resource between design and construction teams.
This role offers a unique blend of field exposure, project administration, quality assurance, and process development. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction management, project engineering, or construction administration and a strong understanding of how projects move from design into construction and closeout.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers and Project Architects throughout the Construction Administration phase of projects.
- Attend job site visits to document progress, identify issues, and assist with project reporting.
- Review contractor RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and construction documentation for completeness and coordination.
- Help develop, implement, and maintain Construction Administration Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Train team members on CA processes, standards, and best practices to ensure consistency across projects.
- Track project progress and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and quality during construction.
- Maintain accurate project records, site observations, meeting notes, and construction documentation.
- Assist with punch lists, closeout documentation, and project turnover activities.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and ownership representatives to facilitate communication and issue resolution.
- Utilize project management and construction management software to document project activities and status updates.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, Construction Administrator, Assistant Project Manager, or similar role within the construction or design industry.
- Working knowledge of Construction Administration processes and project delivery methods.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and scheduling tools.
- Experience with Procore or similar construction management software preferred.
- Understanding of construction systems, building materials, and MEP systems.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications.

Travel & Work Environment
- Primarily office-based with regular visits to project sites throughout the Houston area and surrounding region.
- Occasional travel may be required, including limited domestic air travel.
- Position requires the ability to walk active construction sites and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
