Job summary

Helitech is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to support the daily financial operations of the company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, and general accounting functions.

This internship offers hands-on experience in accounting within a dynamic construction environment, with guidance from experienced professionals and exposure to accounting software and Excel.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college pursuing a degree in accounting or related field.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time-management.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing vendor invoices and verify documentation.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoice processing and payment application.
• Maintain accurate financial records and organize accounting documentation.
• Perform data entry and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare and reconcile financial statements and reports.
• Track project costs and budgets with project managers.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities under supervision.
• Assist with audit preparation and compliance tasks as needed.
• Prepare reports and spreadsheets using Excel.
• Communicate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Gain practical experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
• Learn accounting procedures, financial reporting, and account reconciliation practices.
• Develop proficiency using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Increase understanding of construction accounting and project cost tracking.
