The role emphasizes tightening scope, schedules, and housing requirements, and performing constructability reviews of pre-bid documents. Requires 15+ years of experience in architecture/construction, including roles as Construction Administrator and Designer, with multi-million-dollar project exposure.

Qualifications

• 15 years’ full-time professional paid experience with an Architecture degree and related roles
• 10 of those years as Construction Administrator and 5 as Designer on public/educational facilities
• Projects with $8M+ single or $80M+ combined value
• Alternative path: 15 years as Project Superintendent/Manager on large projects with $30M+ single value and $400M+ cumulative value
• Proficiency in RFCs, submittals and change orders; strong coordination skills

Responsibilities

• Supports the Design Manager and Owner Authorized Representative in preconstruction phase
• Defines and reviews project scope and schedule, including interim housing requirements
• Provides value engineering recommendations at design outset
• Identifies inconsistencies and errors in progress plans to reduce RFIs and Change Orders
• Ensures document coordination across design disciplines
• Prepares comprehensive constructability reviews of pre-bid construction documents
• Coordinates activities with Design Manager and Owner Authorized Representative

Salary Range: $166,000 - $173,000

Type: Full-Time

Duties:
Supports the Design Manager and Owner Authorized Representative during the preconstruction
phase in the following efforts:
9.1 Assists in defining and reviewing the Project Requirement Document scope of work and
schedule including interim housing requirements
9.2 Makes value engineering recommendations at the outset of the design
9.3 Comments on the design professional’s deliverable identifying inconsistencies, ambiguities,
conflicts, errors and omissions in the progress plans to reduce RFIs and Change Orders
9.4 Ensure documents are coordinated between design disciplines.
9.5 Prepares comprehensive constructability review of pre-bid construction documents
9.6 Coordinates the above efforts with the Design Manager and Owner Authorized Representative
in a collaborative way
9.7 Performs other duties as assigned
10. Minimum Requirements
Required Qualifications:
10.1 15 years’ full-time professional paid experience with an Architecture degree and the following:
a. 10 of those years must be acting as a Construction Administrator
b. 5 years remaining must be acting as a Designer.
c. Construction Administrator experience shall be on a public/educational facility
construction project with full responsibility for supporting those projects.
d. Projects shall have a construction value of $8M or more for a single project or with a
combined cumulative project value of $80M.
OR
10.2 15 years full time paid professional experience as a Project Superintendent or Project
Manager on a public/educational facility construction and/or large commercial projects with
full responsibility for coordinating complex projects with construction value of a single project
in excess of $30M with a combined cumulative project value of $400M.
OR
10.3 Minimum of two (2) years of college level coursework from a recognized college, university or
trade school and five (5) years additional experience may be substituted for the educational
requirement.
Additional Qualifications:
10.3 Works quickly, efficiently and confidently
10.4 Proficient in writing RFC’s, reviewing submittals and change orders
10.5 Proficiency in computer programs (MS Word, MS Excel, etc.), including Bluebeam
