Position Summary

This role requires skills to operate a multi-trunk telephone console, computer equipment, and the public address system for announcements and paging. Responsibilities also include monitoring alarms and security cameras under the supervision of the department manager.

Responsibilities
  • Operate a multi-line telephone console and PA system for emergency announcements.
  • Notify appropriate personnel such as Hospital Police, Plant Operations, and Safety Director as needed.
  • Use radio communication and dispatch couriers across multiple locations.
  • Process calls and pages accurately using Amtelco software for the Physician Answering Service and hospital staff.
  • Monitor safety cameras throughout the hospital and grounds.
  • Perform data entry for HIS, PBX, and PC software applications.
  • Assist visitors and callers with patient information and directions.
  • Multi-task effectively to meet department benchmarks.
  • Maintain positive relationships with co-workers and hospital departments.
  • Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, utilizing the Employee Portal for information.
  • Align personal performance with LMH Mission and Vision.
Requirements
  • Basic typing skills, attention to detail, and understanding of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of hospital policies, procedures, and troubleshooting.
  • Effective communication skills with diverse callers and staff.
  • Ability to answer and prioritize calls efficiently, handle high-pressure situations, and relay details accurately.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
