AmeriCorps is seeking a Nursery Operations Assistant to support the Intervale Center/VHCB program in Vermont. You will help propagate native trees and shrubs, engage volunteers, and support statewide restoration efforts that protect watersheds.

The role emphasizes coordinating volunteers, leading groups, and contributing to habitat stewardship while participating in AmeriCorps trainings and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Lead and organize individuals and groups of volunteers.
• Develop workplans for interns and students to meet educational goals.
• Experience with nursery or environmental projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Seed and cutting collection; plant propagation and greenhouse tasks.
• Field maintenance including weeding, irrigation, transplanting and harvesting native trees.
• Support land stewardship and invasive species removal when needed.
• Participate in trainings, events, and program initiatives.
• Coordinate with volunteer groups to ensure smooth experiences and track hours.
