Job summary

VHCB AmeriCorps, affiliated with Vermont Land Trust, seeks a Land Management & Restoration Coordinator to support baseline data for VLT lands, improve monitoring and maintenance systems, and coordinate restoration projects in Vermont. The role runs 1,720 hours over 47 weeks with a living allowance and education award on successful completion.

Work involves field assessments, trail work, and education programs while collaborating with CISMA groups and VHCB AmeriCorps events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in community outreach or environmental stewardship preferred.
• Ability to coordinate volunteers and groups.

Responsibilities

• Conduct invasive plant and insect assessments and develop management plan activities.
• Coordinate invasive species control efforts on VLT Lands.
• Conduct monitoring and manual removal of invasive plants.
• Participate in CISMA in Northern Vermont.
• Conduct trail assessments and management plans to address erosion and water quality.
• Coordinate groups on trail improvements.
• Maintain VLT trails, access areas, and signage.
• Manage community garden and support land management.
• Track and maintain equipment supporting VLT Lands program.
• Deliver educational programs on VLT’s initiatives.
• Participate in VHCB AmeriCorps events and initiatives.
