Job summary

Conservation Legacy in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Crew Program Manager to lead SECC crews and ensure high‑quality program delivery for our Southeast Conservation Corps operations.

The role combines about 60% office work and 40% field duties, including managing crews, directing training (Wilderness First Aid, chainsaw, trails), coordinating with partners, and reporting. Occasional remote work is possible, but a strong in‑person office presence is required most of the year.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
• 3 years’ experience working with youth and/or young adults.
• 4-6 years in trail construction & maintenance work.
• Chainsaw operation & maintenance experience.
• Wilderness First Aid/CPR certification.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar tools.
• Ability to keep teams accountable in remote locations.
• Valid Driver’s License and insurable driving record.
• Must pass criminal history check per policy.
• Ability to adapt to a fluid, changing work environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee SECC crew programming and operations.
• Respond to in-field incidents.
• Provide direct supervision to Program Coordinators.
• Help develop and improve crew programming to meet community needs.
• Monitor administrative duties and ensure quality documentation.
• Strengthen partnerships with local, state, and federal agencies.
• Coordinate pre-project site visits with the Program Director.
• Lead project coordination between partners and SECC staff.
• Assist with crew rigups/derigs and staff coverage as needed.
• Track expenditures to stay within budgets.
