Job summary

The Nashua River Watershed Association (NRWA) seeks a curious, creative Communications & Community Engagement Manager to tell stories that inspire protection of the Nashua River watershed. You will collaborate across the organization to engage members, donors, volunteers, and partners through compelling communications and meaningful outreach.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Advancement, you will help shape NRWA’s brand voice, manage digital content, and support development operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, nonprofit management, journalism, environmental studies, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience in communications, marketing, public relations, nonprofit advancement, or a related field.
• Exceptional written, editing, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Curiosity, independence, and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Develop engaging content for newsletters, email campaigns, the website, social media, blogs, print publications, and other communications.
• Translate scientific, educational, and conservation work into clear communications for diverse audiences.
• Help steward NRWA's brand with a consistent voice, visual identity, and messaging across materials.
• Coordinate photography, video, digital and print publications, and other visual content.
• Support timely advocacy communications and action alerts to encourage informed community participation.
• Maintain and enhance NRWA's website with timely, engaging content.
• Lead NRWA's digital communications and build online communities to expand reach.
• Attend programs, events, volunteer activities, and field work to capture stories and build relationships reflective of NRWA's mission.
• Represent NRWA at community events and outreach opportunities as an enthusiastic ambassador for the organization.
• Process gifts, memberships, acknowledgements, and donor communications using the CRM.
• Maintain accurate constituent records and support data integrity within the CRM.
• Support fundraising campaigns, stewardship activities, grant administration, and special events.
