Job summary

The Connections Associate at Southeast Christian Church guides people to take the next step in their faith journey by connecting first-time visitors with ongoing discipleship pathways. You will equip group leaders, support women’s and connections ministries, and help shepherd volunteers across various roles.

Strong relational skills, a heart for ministry, and the ability to explain doctrinal issues clearly are essential as you collaborate with staff and serve the congregation at our Indiana

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Bible, Ministry or Christian Education required.
• 3+ years ministry experience preferred in a church setting.
• Ability to explain doctrinal issues clearly and in an understandable manner.
• Strong work ethic and a team player who interacts well with staff, members, and guests.
• Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church, or willing to become one.

The Connections Associate is responsible for guiding people to take the next step in their connection to Jesus. They equip group leaders and connect with first time visitors.

What You Will Be Doing

• Support the vision for groups at our Indiana campus, with an emphasis on caring for one another, growing as disciples, and living missionally together.
• Provide administrative support for women's ministry and connections ministry. Respond to emails, updating calendars, returning calls, etc.
• Help assist recruiting, training, shepherding volunteers in various roles including baptism, next steps, and group leaders
• Oversee the preparation for groups, update the website, gather supplies, prepare rooms.
• Assist and support the planning and implementation of “Rooted” classes (10-week class designed for new believers).
• Provide one-at-a-time follow up for first time guests and people seeking next steps of faith.
• Provide assistance in our engagement pathway classes (Starting Point and Membership) in collaboration with Connections team.
• Provide pastoral support: hospital visitation, baptisms, conversations, and more.

• Highly relational with strong people skills and the ability to inspire people toward action.
• Passionate about shepherding, recruiting, training, and empowering volunteers.

Our Requirements
