Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Validation Engineer to join the Client Connected Vehicle Validation Team. You will validate Connected Services features, including Vehicle Access/Start and Security voice of the customer development, and help set functional objectives for next-gen vehicles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
  • Automotive industry experience and understanding of vehicle connectivity.
  • Experience in testing automotive components/features and creating test plans.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, leadership, and ability to deliver under tight timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Validate connected services features, including Vehicle Access/Start and Security voice of the customer development.
  • Maintain functional objective libraries, validate test plans and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new features for next-gen vehicles.

Job Description:
  • The Client Connected Vehicle Validation Team is revolutionizing the vehicle ownership experience through the invention of software products delivered to connect customers through a variety of digital touchpoints including mobile apps, websites, and in-vehicle infotainment systems.
  • The team is seeking candidates that will be responsible for Connected Services Validation for several features including: Vehicle Access/Start, & Security voice of the customer development, customer functional objectives target setting, and conduct the execution of test plans.
  • Will support the vehicle integration and validation process by maintaining functional objective library, validating test plans and procedures, supporting tech club, and working alongside the cross functional teams to develop new features within their domain for the next generation vehicles.
  • Also supports the Platform Engineers in identifying issues on vehicle that fall into their domain as well as support any required ride and drive events.
  • The Validation Engineer will also support benchmarking activities for their domain.

  • Vehicle Access/Start, Vehicle Security/Theft, Remote Operations, Regulatory/Safety, Connected EV, Ignition Systems, Power closures, Memory systems, Infotainment.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited program
  • Engineering experience in automotive industry
  • Strong desire to understand customer wants and vehicle development program
  • Understanding of a vehicle's system connectivity
  • Experience in testing automotive components/features
  • Use of Vector CANoe / CANalyzer
  • Demonstrated communication skills (written and oral)
  • Strong understanding of operational architecture, defining use cases, vehicle and software life cycle
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to summarize and present work
  • Proven ability to deliver in a fast-paced work environment with minimum assistance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited university
  • Working knowledge of FMEA, design validation (DV) and process validation (PV) (DVPR), and test planning
  • One year of vehicle integration and validation experience or equivalent
  • Embedded software development experience
