Our client is seeking a senior technology leader to help shape the future of connected digital platforms and enterprise engineering. This role is responsible for identifying emerging technologies, defining long‑term technology strategy, and mentoring engineering teams while establishing architectural standards, engineering best practices, and governance across the organization.

The ideal candidate is an experienced architect and technology strategist who can drive innovation, enable digital transformation, and ensure engineering teams deliver secure, scalable, maintainable, and interoperable solutions aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and drive a long‑term technology roadmap aligned with business and engineering objectives.
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to accelerate digital transformation initiatives.
  • Evaluate current technology investments and recommend modernization opportunities.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies that create business value.
  • Build cost‑benefit analyses and implementation roadmaps for technology adoption.
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate, modernize, or retire legacy platforms and services.
  • Define and maintain enterprise architecture standards, reference architectures, design patterns, and governance processes.
  • Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, availability, security, and reliability requirements.
  • Guide technology decisions across multiple engineering domains.
  • Establish engineering standards, reusable patterns, and common practices across development teams.
  • Promote consistency in architecture, development processes, tooling, and quality practices.
  • Drive collaboration to eliminate siloed development and encourage reusable, scalable solutions.
Technical Leadership & Mentorship
  • Mentor architects and engineering teams on modern engineering practices and technologies.
  • Support organizational change through coaching, training, and technical leadership.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Build strong partnerships with business stakeholders, engineering leaders, infrastructure teams, and security teams.
  • Participate in technology portfolio planning and architectural review processes.
  • Influence strategic technology direction across the organization.
  • Develop relationships with strategic technology partners.
  • Monitor vendor roadmaps and industry trends to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies, cybersecurity trends, and evolving architectural practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 12–15+ years of progressive technology experience.
  • Strong background in enterprise application architecture and software engineering.
  • Experience with Java application development, Oracle/PLSQL databases, web services, and mobile application development.
  • Deep understanding of cloud architecture and cloud migration strategies.
  • Experience establishing DevSecOps standards, engineering guardrails, and secure software delivery practices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage both technical and executive audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges and drive innovative solutions.
  • Proven experience leading cross‑functional engineering initiatives and mentoring technical teams.
  • Strong consulting, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Passion for emerging technologies and continuous learning.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with connected device, IoT, or telematics platforms.
  • Experience in manufacturing, transportation, automotive, or other large enterprise environments.
  • Agile product development or technology strategy experience.
  • AWS certifications such as:
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
  • AWS Certified Security – Specialty
  • Hybrid work environment.
  • Office located in the Greater Philadelphia region.
  • Remote work available two days per week following an onboarding period.

Compensation: $160,000 to $170,000 annually

Compensation is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job‑related qualifications.
