Job summary

Leeward Renewable Energy (LRE) is seeking a Transmission and Congestion Associate to model congestion, price opportunities, and support risk management across PJM, ERCOT, MISO, and CAISO. The role links with the Manager of Congestion and Market Analytics and leads data-driven trading insights.

You will work with YES, PowerWorld, and Dayzer tools, develop congestion plans, and contribute to quarterly reporting. Hybrid on-site work in a dynamic power market environment is expected.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years’ experience in congestion, transmission, or energy market analytics.
• Experience with transmission modeling, virtual transactions and FTR auctions across multiple ISOs (PJM, ERCOT, CAISO).
• Knowledge of wholesale power markets and ISO operations.
• Strong understanding of transmission systems and nodal pricing changes.
• Experience with transmission modeling tools such as Dayzer and YES.
• SQL and database experience preferred.
• Tableau or Power BI skills preferred.
• Proficient with Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Research, model, and price congestion fundamentals across ISOs.
• Validate and analyze congestion models for accuracy.
• Manage large data sets to identify and price opportunities.
• Perform quantitative analyses of energy markets and translate changes into strategies.
• Maintain and calibrate power flow models (PowerWorld, YES, Dayzer).
• Provide daily analysis of market congestion to inform risk assessments.
• Participate in execution of the LRE Congestion Plan.
• Contribute to research and development of analytical tools.
• Produce nodal LMP forecasts for multiple ISOs.
• Collaborate with trading teams on ad-hoc scenarios.
• Lead analytical prep for congestion product auctions.
