Job summary

Hecker Fink LLP is seeking a Conflicts and Risk Attorney to support the General Counsel’s Office and the Conflicts and Matter Intake Department. The role will manage risk exposure, advise on a range of legal and compliance issues, and report to the Deputy General Counsel.

The position is hybrid and located in the New York area or DC region with potential relocation. The ideal candidate will have a law degree and 4+ years’ experience, strong drafting, analytical, and IT skills, and familiarity

Qualifications

• Education: law degree and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Minimum four years’ experience as a qualified attorney, preferably in a large firm.
• Strong analytical, drafting and regulatory compliance capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise conflicts and new matter intake processes and personnel; resolve conflicts and oversee client KYC.
• Research applicable law, regulations, and firm policies on conflicts, ethics, and compliance.
• Review engagement letters and vendor contracts; draft conflict waivers.
• Assist onboarding, client transfers, and matter openings for lateral partners.
• Advise on regulatory frameworks across NY, CA, and DC; identify system improvements.
