Job summary

Dorsey & Whitney LLP seeks a Conflicts Attorney to research and resolve conflict of interest issues for firm new business and lateral hires. You will collaborate with the Conflicts team, Ethics Counsel, Claims Counsel, Lawyer Recruiting and attorneys firm-wide to efficiently assist with matter openings and ongoing maintenance.

This can be a fully remote position based out of Dorsey\'s Minneapolis, Denver, Seattle, Phoenix, or Salt Lake City office.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA‑accredited law school and an active bar membership in one or more states.
• At least 2 years of experience with clearing conflicts and drafting waivers.
• Experience with Intapp Conflicts.
• Experience opening matters for lateral‑hire attorneys at a large firm.
• Strong writing and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently or with a team.

Responsibilities

• Research, review and analyze conflicts reports to identify potential conflicts.
• Identify conflicts to ensure compliance with policies and ethics rules.
• Consult with attorneys regarding conflicts clearance and timely matter openings.
• Use firm software to review and clear conflicts and document steps taken.
• Assist with drafting conflicts waivers and ethics walls as requested.
• Review engagement letters for conflicts and ethics language.
• Respond to questions on conflicts waivers and intake policies.
• Review client outside counsel guidelines for compliance.
• Stay current with conflicts laws and rules.
• Support training and orientation on conflicts topics.
• Perform special projects as assigned.
