Ashurst Perkins Coie US LLP seeks a Conflicts Attorney to advise on client engagement terms, outside counsel guidelines, and related agreements in a fast-paced, global firm. You will support legal and business teams, balance commercial priorities with risk, and help protect the firm’s interests.

The role requires senior-level experience in contracts, risk management, and cross‑functional collaboration with attorneys and clients.

Qualifications

• J.D. with an active license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 5+ years of legal practice in a law firm or professional services setting.
• 2+ years in compliance, risk management, or contract-focused work.
• Experience reviewing and negotiating client-drafted contracts or engagement terms.
• Strong legal, commercial, and analytical judgment.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze client engagement terms, including outside counsel guidelines and NDAs.
• Advise attorneys on legal, commercial, operational, and risk implications.
• Lead or support negotiations with clients and attorneys to balance risk and client priorities.
• Identify regulatory and business risks and coordinate with subject matter experts.
• Review changes to standard terms and advise on exceptions.
• Serve as risk/compliance resource for questionnaires and bids.
• Guide other Conflicts Attorneys and Analysts on complex terms.
• Develop and improve negotiation workflows and documentation practices.
• Ensure terms and commitments are properly documented and auditable.
• Monitor legal developments and update policies as needed.
• Lead or support special projects in risk, compliance, or contract tech.
