Job summary

Binding Minds Inc. is seeking a senior-level Conflicts Attorney for a 100% remote role. You will support Milbank’s global conflicts function, handling conflicts analysis for new business, lateral hires, and complex matters.

The attorney will advise partners on ethical and business conflicts, draft waivers, and help implement ethical walls, with occasional on-call rotation including some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and analyzing complex conflict reports and identifying potential legal/ethical issues.
• Advising partners and attorneys on conflict resolution and appropriate courses of action.
• Drafting and obtaining conflict waivers.
• Creating and implementing ethical walls/screens, including screening memoranda.
• Reviewing lateral attorney and matter lists for potential conflicts.
• Conducting corporate family-tree research and conflict searches.
• Researching applicable ethics rules, opinions, and case law.
• Guiding Conflicts Analysts on best practices, research, matter maintenance, and conflict-report preparation.
• Maintaining detailed documentation of conflict-resolution steps.
• Supporting urgent matters and participating in an occasional on-call rotation, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays.

About the Role — 100 % Remote Conflicts Attorney

This is a senior-level legal conflicts and risk management role supporting Milbank’s global conflicts function and working closely with the Office of General Counsel. The attorney will primarily handle conflicts analysis for new business, lateral hires, and complex matters, while advising partners and attorneys on ethical and business conflicts.

Key responsibilities include:

• Advising partners and attorneys on conflict resolution and appropriate courses of action.

The position can be fully remote, with flexibility to visit an office for training and team meetings. The East Coast shift time for the role is 4 PM to 12 PM EST and West Coast is 1 PM to 9 PM PST.
