Responsibilities

• Perform conflict of interest searches for attorneys and staff to determine whether the firm may accept new clients and matters.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to identify all parties involved in new client engagements.
• Analyze findings and present results in a timely and organized fashion.
• Conduct research in internal and external databases to identify any additional parties relevant to the conflict assessment.
• Answer internal calls and respond to inquiries from attorneys and staff regarding status of new matter engagements and conflict clearance.
• Handle confidential information discreetly and maintain high levels of professionalism.
• Assist in data maintenance projects to ensure accuracy of Firm’s conflict system.
• Assist recruiting with lateral hire conflict checks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform conflict of interest searches for attorneys and staff to determine whether or not Firm may accept new clients and matters under prevailing ethical rules, applicable law, and internal policies
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to identify all parties involved in new client engagements, including individuals, groups, governments, and business entities
• Analyze findings and present results in a timely and organized fashion
• Conduct research in internal and external databases to identify any additional parties relevant to the conflict assessment, including corporate tree analysis
• Answer internal calls and respond to inquiries from attorneys and staff regarding status of new matter engagements and conflict clearance
• Handle confidential information discreetly and maintain high levels of professionalism
• Assist in data maintenance projects to ensure accuracy of Firm’s conflict system
• Assist recruiting with lateral hire conflict checks
• Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Prior experience utilizing automated conflicts and/or workflow systems preferred
• Interpersonal communication skills necessary to maintain effective relationships with attorneys, clients, and staff and ability to interact with all levels of personnel in a professional manner
• Experience working in a professional or legal office environment
• Reliable, punctual, and professional
• Willingness to learn and adapt to Firm needs
• Strong computer, research, analytical, and proofreading skills

For our Syracuse, NY location, this position's salary range is between $50,000 to $60,000. For our Long Island, NY location, this position’s salary range is $60,000 to $72,000. This position is open to various locations, and compensation will be adjusted based on cost of living. Across all locations, salary ranges are negotiable depending on years of experience.
